About
Elisha Tamir is an artist based in Surfside, Florida.
She began painting as a child, inspired by visits to New York museums such as The Met, MoMA, and the Brooklyn Museum. Without formal training, her work has grown through experimentation, influenced by movements like Abstract Expressionism, with artists such as Lee Krasner and Jackson Pollock, as well as the street style of Jean-Michel Basquiat. Her style also draws from the figurative and decorative approaches of Egon Schiele and Gustav Klimt, while her teenage years exploring street art continue to shape her creative voice.
Elisha draws much of her from Kabbalah and Chabad Chassidus, incorporating ideas such as the sefirot, divine light, and spiritual structure into her imagery, alongside the boldness of her early street-art years.
